Market Problem

There is a representative platform in Korea in the conventional web 2.0 market environment. Naver, which appeared in June 1999, is the one. Naver’s share of domestic search engines and portal sites is close to 87.3%, and Kakao Talk’s mobile messenger share, which was released in March 2010, is 94.4%. Naver is the platform that dominated the PC era and Kakao Talk is the mobile era.

Market Problem

There are many cases that lead to monopoly after preoccupation not only in Korea but also abroad. In Web 2.0, services that lead to monopolies convey inconvenience to users. The biggest example is that when searched with a single keyword, advertisements such as similar information appear first, or the information provided by the platform is provided first rather than user-centered.

In other words, the provision of biased information and the unilateral provision of algorithm-based information planned and provided by portals and search engines dominate consumers’ thoughts and values, and dysfunctions as good as net functions have been consistently problematic.

Therefore, one of the ultimate goals of the O2 LINK project team is to use data based on free data through services provided by O2 LINK. Platform companies in each field are using monopoly to create more monopoly businesses, and negative ripple effects from monopoly continue to occur. These social systems are becoming increasingly difficult and more entrenched to escape from the framework of monopoly.

The O2 LINK project allows individual users to take the lead and utilize it while maintaining their individuality and originality. The effect of preoccupation is not seen as exclusive to companies, but is also provided to users. The intelligent web, created through algorithms based on the needs of users, functions to provide and use appropriate information.

The establishment of a data network through users’ daily lives and activities can be directly linked to real users’ platform services and create a structure that everyone can use efficiently and optimally. In addition to providing free data, it approaches the advantage of being more easily accessible in additional activities that can be used in daily life.

Breaking down the problems of the existing platform market and developing a platform that can provide more user-centered services is the priority of the O2 LINK project team, and establish an ecosystem system that can be expanded and developed around users.

The core of the O2 LINK project lies in decentralization, the core of decentralization lies in the innovation of Internet networks, and the answer to the innovation lies in the participation of individuals in infrastructure supply based on Wi-Fi infrastructure.

Through O2 LINK’s series of NFT projects, the O2 LINK project will be promoted quickly wherever individuals need it most urgently - universities, downtown commercial areas, buses, subways, stadiums, and concert halls - and the O2 LINK platform will not just function as a free communication infrastructure, but will evolve into a new direction for all participants.

Although the Kakao Talk platform initially started with free Internet phone and messenger functions, the O2 LINK platform will also grow into a platform that meets the needs and trends of individuals and society, just as it has become a platform that exerts great influence on individuals and society today.

However, unlike established platforms, everyone’s intention is respected from start to finish, and I am confident that it will not be a platform only for certain forces and companies that are biased and distorted. We will maintain our orientation toward an innovative platform that everyone achieves and shares together, including thoughts, values, and even platform profits and surplus resources.

The existing fixed core carrier-centered network system, and the more powerful search engines, portal sites, and platform services on top of it, are all aware that they have not deviated from the existing large care and supplier-centered framework, not the consumer-centered ones.

At a time when the emergence and innovation of decentralized networks and these network-based Web3.0 platform services are important to be in line with the generational sensitivity of the MZ generation, which is the center of the new trend, O2 LINK wants to be the starting point for the change.
